Thursday started off well, as the Cubs +115 on the Run Line won their game over the Marlins, 8-3 for +1,150♦s of profit, but the night card in hoops did not treat me as kind, as my 1500♦ on the Kings went belly-up against the Pelicans.

If you see a play you love you cannot be afraid to fire big, and that is just what I am doing with this Philly-New York meeting at the Garden.

Saturday night's comp play is the Nuggets at home minus the points over the Lakers.

It's just a bad matchup for Los Angeles, as Denver comes into this opening-round playoff series having won 8 in a row over the Lakers straight up while covering 5 straight and 6 of the 8 overall. 4 of those wins came last May in a quick sweep by the Nuggets on their way to the NBA Championship.

Los Angeles did well to advance earlier this week in their play-in win and cover at the New Orleans Pelicans, but it is hard to argue the Nuggets total domination of their Western Conference rivals, and it is also hard to argue with the Nuggets 33-8 mark at Ball Arena this season.

Denver is the defending champions, and I doubt highly they come out flat this evening and allow Los Angeles to pull the road upset. The Lakers are dangerous this season, and there is no doubt this line shows a bit of disrespect to King James and his teammates, but 8 wins and 6 covers in those wins tell a different tale.

Until we see otherwise, take the Nuggets over the Lakers.
